Safar ki dua in Arabic
Glory be to the One who has placed this at our service, and we ourselves would not have been capable of it. And surely to our Lord we will return.
Quran, Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:13–14 · recited on journeys as narrated in Sahih Muslim
When to read it
Read it once you are seated in your car, bus, train or plane and the journey begins. Many families say it together as soon as the car starts moving, which is an easy habit for children to pick up.
How to teach it to children
- Split it in two. Teach the first half for a week, then the second half.
- Use every trip. Even the school run is a journey. Say it together every time.
- Explain the meaning. Tell your child we are thanking Allah for the car we could never have made ourselves.
